Overview
Delhi has been the seat of power for a succession of empires, and each left something behind. Mughal tombs sit beside Lutyens boulevards, Sultanate ruins appear in suburban parks, and the lanes of Old Delhi still trade the way they did four hundred years ago. As the national capital it draws diplomats, journalists, NGOs and a large international community. Winters are pleasant, summers are punishing and winter air quality is a genuine concern. In return you get monuments, museums and North Indian food at a standard found nowhere else.
